Privacy

In short: you can play without an account. We use one cookie, only to keep your round and avoid repeating questions. There are no ads, no analytics services, no tracking pixels and no social media plugins, so there is no cookie banner.

Who is responsible

What we store, and why

• A random guest ID in a cookie called bq_guest. It is set when you start your first round and kept for one year. It lets you resume an unfinished round, avoids showing you the same questions too often, and keeps your challenge scores apart from your friend's. It does not contain your name or anything else about you.
• Your rounds: which quiz you played, the answers you locked in and your score. This is how scoring, the answer review and friend challenges work.
• A name, only if you type one on a challenge invite (“Rik scored 7/10”). Anyone with that challenge link can see it. Leave it empty to stay anonymous.
• Problem reports you send about a question, with your optional comment.
• Simple usage counts in our own database, such as “a quiz was finished” or “a share button was used”, so we can see whether the game works. They contain no IP address and no device details.

We don't sell or share any of this, and we don't use it for advertising.

On your device

Your recent results and the days you played are also kept in your browser's local storage, only to show them to you on the home page (“On this device”). They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Services we use

• Hosting: the site runs on a server rented from [hosting provider] in [country].
• Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Like any web server, it necessarily sees your IP address and browser details when you visit, to deliver the page and block attacks.

Our web server keeps standard access logs (including IP addresses) for a short period for security and troubleshooting ([log retention]). We don't use them for anything else.

How long we keep things

• Usage counts: 13 months.
• Guest IDs not used for 13 months are deleted. Finished rounds are kept without a link to you, so challenge links keep working.
• Problem reports: as long as needed to handle them.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because we don't know who you are, the easiest way is to clear the cookies for this site, which disconnects your rounds from you. For anything else, contact us at [contact email]. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
